Amtrak Transparency Act

This bill requires Amtrak to be more open with the public about how it operates. Amtrak's Board of Directors would have to follow federal rules about holding meetings that are open to the public, post announcements and agendas at least 30 days before meetings, and hold a yearly meeting that invites state transportation departments involved in long-distance or state-supported train routes. The bill also requires Amtrak to publicly share information about bonus pay given to certain employees and, if asked, share details about large vendor contracts worth $250,000 or more related to state-supported routes.
