MAPS Act

This bill requires the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to keep an updated list of essential medicines that need to be available at all times, including drugs important for public health emergencies, chronic conditions, and military readiness. The FDA must also study the supply chains for these medicines to find risks, such as relying too heavily on foreign suppliers, and report its findings to Congress every year. The bill also requires the Department of Health and Human Services to track and monitor these supply chains for weaknesses, and the Department of Defense must report to Congress every 180 days on any drugs it bought that were made in or sourced from China.
