Secure America Act

This law provides $70 billion in funding through 2029 to the Department of Homeland Security and its agencies, including Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, for border security and immigration enforcement. The money covers a wide range of activities, such as hiring and training Border Patrol agents, purchasing border surveillance technology, combating drug trafficking including fentanyl, upgrading air and marine response capabilities, and setting up biometric entry and exit systems. It also funds efforts to investigate child sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as ICE operations including arresting certain unlawful aliens, maintaining facilities, and working with state and local law enforcement on immigration enforcement. This is a reconciliation bill, which means it follows special rules in Congress that speed up the process and prevent it from being blocked by a filibuster in the Senate.
