SWAMP Act

This bill would stop federal agencies from building new headquarters, doing major renovations, or signing new or renewed leases for their headquarters in the Washington, D.C. area. Instead, it sets up a process where states and local governments across the country can compete to have those agency headquarters moved to their area. The General Services Administration, which manages federal buildings, would be in charge of running this bidding process and, working with the agency involved, would pick a new location based on certain factors.
