Extending Limits of United States Customs Waters Act of 2025

This bill changes how far out from the U.S. coastline customs laws apply. Right now, U.S. customs authority covers waters up to 12 nautical miles from the coast. The bill would extend that reach to 24 nautical miles by putting into law two past presidential orders that expanded these boundaries. This means U.S. customs officials would have legal authority to enforce customs rules in a wider area of ocean surrounding the country.
