Restoring America’s Floodplains Act

This bill lets the Department of Agriculture help restore and manage floodplain areas that the government has purchased easements on through the Emergency Watershed Protection Program, which helps protect people and property from floods and other natural disasters. Specifically, it allows the Department of Agriculture to spend money and provide expert help to bring back natural plant life and restore wetlands on these floodplain lands. The bill also gives the Department of Agriculture the authority to make agreements with landowners, government agencies, and private organizations to help take care of and manage the restored plants and wetlands on these properties.
