Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act

This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to support training programs that teach doctors, nurses, and other health professionals how to provide palliative care and hospice care, which focus on comfort for seriously ill patients. It creates awards and grants for schools and individuals to help grow the number of specialists in this field. The bill also calls for sharing information with patients and families about palliative care and for expanding research on the topic through the National Institutes of Health.
