Healthy Moms and Babies Act

This bill creates new programs to help pregnant women and new mothers get better health care through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). It lets state Medicaid programs pay for coordinated care teams that help women during and after pregnancy, and it sets up a program to expand video and phone medical visits for pregnant and new mothers. The bill also creates a group to advise on birthing practices, requires a study on covering doula services through Medicaid, and calls for new guidance on reducing deaths among mothers who receive Medicaid or CHIP benefits.
