Collision Avoidance Systems Act of 2025

This bill would allow cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, trailers, and other vehicles to use a special kind of brake light that flashes rapidly up to four times over about one second before staying on as a steady light while the brake is pressed. Right now, federal rules control how all vehicle lights work, and this bill would require the Department of Transportation to update those rules to include standards for these flashing brake light systems and officially permit their use on vehicles.
