Northern Montana Water Security Act of 2025

This bill approves a water rights agreement between the United States, Montana, and the Fort Belknap Indian Community (the Gros Ventre and Assiniboine Tribes) in northern Montana. It requires the community's water rights to be held in trust for the community and its members, and the community must create its own rules for managing those water rights. The bill also sets up special funds to pay for carrying out the agreement and allows the government to negotiate land exchanges with Montana to benefit the community, though no gambling is allowed on any land transferred through this process. In addition, the bill lets the Department of the Interior build and maintain water and wastewater facilities for the Blackfeet Tribe on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana.
