Dignity for Aborted Children Act

This bill sets rules for how fetal tissue must be handled after an abortion. It requires abortion providers to get the patient's informed consent to either keep the tissue themselves or release it to the provider. If the patient releases the tissue to the provider, the provider must have it buried or cremated within seven days, following state laws about handling human remains. Providers must also send yearly reports to the Department of Health and Human Services, and they can face civil or criminal penalties for breaking these rules.
