Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act

This bill extends funding through 2029 for programs that support the mental health of health care workers. It continues grants that help health care providers set up support programs, like peer-support groups and mental health services, for their workers, and it allows priority to be given to applicants focused on reducing paperwork burdens on health care staff. The bill also continues grants for training health care students and professionals on how to deal with mental health issues, requiring that these grants last at least three years. Finally, it keeps going a CDC program that helps health care workers learn about and seek help for their own mental health, and it requires the CDC to report to Congress each year on how that program is doing.
