Stand Strong Falls Prevention Act

This bill creates a special advisory group focused on preventing falls, especially among older adults. The group would work with the Administration on Aging to build a national plan for reducing falls and fall-related injuries, and it would coordinate research and services across federal agencies. The advisory group, made up of people from government agencies, healthcare providers, caregivers, and other organizations, would review all federally funded falls prevention efforts, suggest a Medicare test program to help cover basic home modifications that reduce falls, and encourage doctors to use a fall risk screening tool developed by the CDC. The Administration on Aging would also be required to send regular reports to Congress on the country's progress in preventing falls and how the group's recommendations are being carried out.
