Pay the People Act

This bill would set aside money to make sure federal workers, contractors, and active-duty military members keep getting paid during a government shutdown. A government shutdown happens when Congress has not passed the spending bills needed to fund the government. Agencies would not be allowed to use this money during times when regular government funding is already in place. The bill would apply as if it had been signed into law on September 30, 2025.
