Stop Pills That Kill Act

This bill increases punishments for people who make fentanyl or fake versions of drugs. It takes tougher penalties that already exist for methamphetamine-related crimes — like having equipment used to illegally make drugs — and extends those same penalties to cover fentanyl and counterfeit substances. The bill also requires the Drug Enforcement Administration to create a plan to fight counterfeit fentanyl and methamphetamine through law enforcement and education, and it requires the Department of Justice to report each year on how much counterfeit fentanyl and methamphetamine law enforcement is collecting and how many related cases are being prosecuted.
