DIRECT Act of 2025

This bill would let stores, restaurants, and similar businesses sell meat and poultry that has been inspected by state programs to household customers over the internet and ship it across state lines, as long as it's not being exported to another country. Right now, meat and poultry inspected by state programs can generally only be sold within the same state. Under this bill, these products could be shipped directly to consumers in normal retail amounts, such as up to 300 pounds of beef, 100 pounds of pork, or 27.5 pounds of lamb.
