Preventive Health Savings Act

This bill would allow Congress to ask the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to figure out whether a proposed law could save the government money in the long run by using preventive health care — things like keeping people healthy and preventing disease before it starts. If the CBO finds that a proposed law would save money beyond the usual 10-year budget planning period through preventive health care, it must include details about those savings in its reports. However, these extra estimates can only be used as additional information and cannot be used to officially meet budget rules.
