Improving Atmospheric River Forecasts Act

The program would involve developing better forecasting tools, testing new ways to gather weather data using things like radar, aircraft, and ocean buoys, and figuring out the best ways to warn people about these events. The bill also requires NOAA to maintain enough aircraft, including drones, along with equipment and staff needed to fly weather observation missions each year during the atmospheric river season, which runs from November through March.
