Smarter Weather Forecasting for Water Management, Farming, and Ranching Act of 2025

This bill requires the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to set up two test projects to get better at predicting rain and other precipitation weeks to months in advance. One project focuses on helping with water management in the western United States, including better forecasting for mountainous areas and major rain events. The other project focuses on helping farmers and ranchers across the country by improving predictions of warm-season rain and spring and summer weather patterns. Both projects must work with colleges and universities, set clear goals for improvement, and will end five years after the bill becomes law.
