QUIET Act

This bill says that any robocall using artificial intelligence to sound like a real person must tell the listener at the start of the call that AI is being used. Robocalls include calls or texts sent using automatic dialing technology or artificial and prerecorded voices, but not calls that require a lot of human involvement. The bill also doubles the maximum fines and penalties for people who use AI in robocalls to pretend to be someone else in order to commit fraud, cause harm, or steal something of value.
