Lower Health Care Costs Act

What this bill does

AI plain-language summary

This bill would extend certain tax credits that help people pay for health insurance bought through the health insurance marketplace. Right now, temporary changes made by earlier laws allow more people to qualify for these credits and make the credits larger, but those changes are set to expire after 2025. This bill would keep those expanded credits in place for three more years, through 2028, so that people with higher incomes could still qualify and many people would continue to pay less for their insurance premiums.
