SAFE Act

This bill asks the U.S. Sentencing Commission to update the rules that determine how long someone is sentenced to prison for federal crimes involving creating or spreading child sexual abuse material. The updates would take into account the real harm caused by these crimes, changes in how people commit them, and new technologies. The goal is to make sure the sentencing guidelines better match how serious each person's role in the crime actually is.
