ECCHO Act

This bill sets up new federal rules to stop people from using the internet to pressure kids into doing harmful things. It makes it a crime to intentionally coerce a minor online into actions like attempting suicide, hurting people or animals, arson, swatting, or doxxing. Internet and technology companies would be required to report cases of online coercion of minors to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The bill also makes it easier to prosecute people who commit these crimes and adds privacy and safety protections for minors who have to testify in court as victims or witnesses.
