Fire-Safe Electrical Corridors Act of 2025

This bill lets the Forest Service speed up the process of removing trees or other plants that are near power lines on Forest Service land. Instead of requiring a separate timber sale, the Forest Service can include permission for electric companies to cut down and remove trees or vegetation as part of their existing land-use permits, as long as the work follows current land management plans and environmental laws. If the electric company sells any of the removed trees or plants, it must give the money from those sales to the Forest Service, minus any costs for transporting the material.
