Electric Supply Chain Act

This bill requires the Department of Energy to regularly study the supply chain that supports electricity production and delivery across the country. The study would look at weaknesses in the supply of parts needed to generate and transmit electricity, obstacles to producing important materials in the U.S., and any government policies that discourage investment in the supply chain. The Department of Energy would also need to send reports to Congress with recommendations on how to protect and grow the supply chain, with the first report due within one year of the bill becoming law.
