Wildfire Emergency Act of 2025

This bill sets up several programs to deal with wildfires and related problems. It has the Forest Service run a 10-year test program that uses outside investors to help pay for projects that protect and restore national forest land. The Department of Energy would create a program to help important buildings like hospitals keep their power running during extreme weather, and the bill also expands a home weatherization program to include fire-resistant materials. The bill also requires the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior to improve wildfire detection, set up training centers in western states to teach people how to reduce wildfire risk, and create grant programs to support forestry workers and help communities take care of their local lands.
