STEWARD Act of 2025

This bill sets up new programs to help increase recycling and composting across the country. It tells the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a grant program that gives money to states, local governments, Indian tribes, and public-private partnerships to make recycling easier to access, especially in underserved communities. The EPA would also be required to collect data on recycling and composting, keep track of recycling facilities, and figure out how much recyclable material is actually being recycled instead of thrown away. The EPA can use this information to help states, local governments, and Indian tribes reduce waste and improve their recycling and composting efforts, and the bill also requires various reports on recycling-related activities.
