Federal Freeze Act

This bill would stop pay raises for all federal employees for one year after it becomes law. During that same year, federal agencies would not be allowed to hire more people than they already have, unless the new hires are needed for law enforcement, public safety, national security, or emergency response. The bill also requires each agency to cut its workforce by 5% within three years, not counting employees who work in law enforcement, public safety, national security, or emergency response.
