Auto Theft Prevention Act

This bill creates a program that gives money to state and local police departments to help them fight car theft and the trafficking of stolen cars. The grants would be managed by an office within the Department of Justice that focuses on community policing. The bill also allows money from an existing community policing grant program to be used for the same purpose of fighting car theft and stolen car trafficking.
