School Access to Naloxone Act of 2026

This bill would create grants to help elementary and secondary schools get drugs like naloxone that can treat opioid overdoses. The Department of Health and Human Services could give these grants to states, Indian tribes, and local governments, but those receiving the grants must make sure their schools keep the overdose treatments in stock and have trained staff available during school hours to give them. The bill also requires that the state's attorney general confirm that trained school staff who give these treatments in an emergency are protected from being sued under the state's Good Samaritan laws.
