ACE Agriculture Act of 2026

This bill renews a Department of Agriculture program called AGARDA through 2031. AGARDA supports research and development of new technology and products to deal with long-term challenges related to food and farming. The bill adds new goals for the program, including water conservation, addressing greenhouse gas emissions, and building resilience to things like drought, diseases, and pests that affect plants and animals. It also makes the program permanent instead of a pilot, requires the department to hire dedicated staff for it, and lets the department use leftover funds from other areas to pay for it.
