VALOR Act of 2025

This bill targets the current government of Venezuela by requiring the President to block the property of the Venezuelan government and its supporters, and it allows the U.S. to cut off certain aid to countries that help Venezuela's government. It also lets the President support democracy-building efforts in Venezuela and requires a plan to send food, medicine, and energy assistance once a democratically elected government takes power there. The bill says sanctions should end when Venezuela has free and fair elections, respects human rights, has an independent court system, and releases all political prisoners. It also stops U.S. individuals and companies from doing business involving Venezuela's debt or any digital currency created by Venezuela, and it requires the Treasury Department to oppose Venezuela's participation in international financial organizations like the International Monetary Fund.
