Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule Act

This law requires the Architect of the Capitol to create and bury a time capsule in the Capitol Visitor Center by July 4, 2026, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The time capsule will include a joint letter from top leaders in the House and Senate, along with any other items those leaders choose to include. A plaque about the time capsule will also be installed, and the capsule is not to be opened until July 4, 2276, when it will be presented to the Congress serving at that time.
