Apples to Apples Comparison Act of 2026

This bill would require the government to regularly publish detailed information about how much money Medicare spends on different types of coverage, including hospital services, medical services, prescription drugs, and Medicare Advantage plans. The information would need to be broken down by location and by month, covering the past 10 years and projecting 5 years into the future. It would also require two separate groups — the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and the Medicare Boards of Trustees — to put out yearly reports comparing spending on people in Medicare Advantage plans versus those not in Medicare Advantage, as well as spending on people who have different combinations of Medicare coverage.
