Tribal Police Department Parity Act

This bill would give tribal law enforcement agencies the same access to firearms that federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies already have. Right now, certain government agencies don't have to pay a special tax when transferring certain firearms, can receive firearms shipped across state lines, and can have machine guns made after 1986 — but tribal agencies are not included. This bill would change the law so that Indian tribes and their law enforcement agencies qualify for all of those same exceptions.
