NO BAN Act

This bill limits the President's power to block people from entering the United States and bans religious discrimination in visa and immigration decisions unless a specific law allows it. The President can still temporarily restrict entry for certain groups, but only if the State Department finds a real and specific threat to U.S. interests like public safety, and the restriction must be as narrow as possible. Before putting a restriction in place, the government must consult with Congress and report back within 48 hours, or the restriction automatically ends. The bill also allows people in the United States who are harmed by such a restriction to take the matter to federal court.
