Addressing Teacher Shortages Act of 2026

This bill would have the Department of Education create a new program focused on teacher shortages. Through this program, the Department of Education would give grants to local school districts to help them deal with not having enough teachers. The grant money could be used for things like teacher training residency programs, mentor programs for teachers, recruitment and training efforts, and other proven strategies to help keep teachers in the profession and support them.
