Land Grant Research Prioritization Act of 2026

This bill adds new topics to the list of research areas that the Department of Agriculture considers high priority. It allows USDA to give out grants for developing technology to automate farming tasks (especially harvesting specialty crops) and for exploring how artificial intelligence can be used in agriculture. The bill also lets USDA fund research at certain universities to find ways to control and get rid of invasive plants and animals, as well as to improve methods for farming fish and other aquatic species.
