Removing Medicare Mental Health Inpatient Limitations Act of 2026

This bill gets rid of a rule in Medicare that limits people to 190 days of care in psychiatric hospitals over their lifetime. Currently, once a Medicare patient has used 190 days of inpatient mental health hospital services, Medicare stops covering that type of care. This bill would remove that cap so there is no longer a lifetime limit.
