Flight 293 Remembrance Act

This bill requires the Department of Defense to find and keep records of all military plane crashes that did not happen during combat, and to create a public database listing the names, ranks, and service details of service members who died in those crashes. It also requires the Department of Defense to help the families of those service members by making sure they know about available benefits and support services, giving them personalized help applying for those benefits, and connecting them with community and peer support groups. The bill also sets up a specific contact person for these families to guide them through the process and work with other agencies to make sure they get coordinated help. The bill says that none of this assistance can be denied based on disability, sex, race, color, or national origin.
