Student Protection and Success Act

This bill would cut off federal financial aid to colleges and universities where very few students (15% or less) are able to start paying back their student loans by certain deadlines. It also sets up a grant program to reward schools that do a good job helping low- and moderate-income students, funded by payments from schools where students have high amounts of unpaid loan debt. These grants could be used for things like extra financial aid, tutoring and support services, and faster learning programs. The bill also requires the collection of data on how schools spend money on student services and on recruiting and marketing.
