DOT Victim and Survivor Advocate Act

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to create a new position called the National Roadway Safety Advocate. This person would work directly with victims and survivors of road crashes and their families, listen to their concerns about road safety, and pass along their recommendations to the Department of Transportation. The advocate would not be allowed to create department policies or discuss ongoing investigations or legal cases. The advocate would also be required to submit a yearly report pointing out major road safety problems raised by these individuals and suggesting ways to fix them.
