A bill to require voters to provide photo identification as a condition of casting a ballot, and for other purposes.

This bill would require voters to show a valid photo ID in order to receive a ballot in federal elections. If someone doesn't have a photo ID, they can still cast a provisional ballot, but they must come back within three days with their ID or sign a statement saying their religion prevents them from being photographed. For mail-in or other non-in-person voting, people would generally need to include a copy of their photo ID or provide the last four digits of their Social Security number along with a signed statement explaining why they can't get a photo ID. Military voters overseas and certain elderly or disabled voters would be exempt from these non-in-person voting requirements.
