Ensuring Access to Lower-Cost Medicines for Seniors Act

This bill says that Medicare prescription drug plans must include generic drugs and cheaper versions of brand-name medicines (called biosimilars) on their list of covered drugs. These plans cannot make it harder for people to get generic drugs or biosimilars than it is to get brand-name drugs, such as by adding extra approval steps. Plans that charge different amounts for different types of drugs must also create specific pricing levels for generics and biosimilars.
