Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act

This bill limits rules set by private groups, like homeowners' associations, that block or make it harder for amateur (ham) radio operators to put up, maintain, or use antennas on property they control. However, it still allows rules that require antennas to be kept in safe condition and installed according to manufacturer guidelines, local zoning laws, and building codes. The bill also puts limits on rules that require radio operators to get approval before installing an antenna, and it removes approval requirements entirely for certain types of antennas. It also creates a process for enforcing these rules and allows people who are harmed by violations to take legal action.
