Fairness in Fentanyl Sentencing Act of 2025

This bill changes the rules for how much fentanyl or similar drugs someone has to be caught with before they face a required minimum prison sentence. It lowers those amounts significantly — for example, from 400 grams down to 20 grams for fentanyl — meaning people caught with smaller amounts would now face the same mandatory prison time that previously applied only to those with much larger quantities. The bill also tells the U.S. Postal Service to use more chemical screening devices and assign enough workers to help stop fentanyl and other illegal drugs from being shipped into the country through the mail.
