DEMOCRACIA Act

This bill sets up penalties against people and organizations involved with certain parts of the Cuban government, including freezing their assets and blocking their visas. These penalties target foreign individuals or groups that do business with Cuba's defense sector, are involved in human rights abuses or terrorism, work as military contractors for Cuba, or break U.S. trade laws related to Cuba. The bill also creates a government task force to help people in Cuba access uncensored internet. The penalties can be lifted once the President confirms that Cuba's government has taken specific steps to support political rights and freedoms, and Congress passes a resolution agreeing with that decision.
