Eliminating Leftover Expenses for Campaigns from Taxpayers (ELECT) Act of 2025

This bill would end the option on federal tax forms that lets taxpayers direct $3 of their taxes to help pay for presidential election campaigns. It would also shut down the Presidential Election Campaign Fund and the account used to match donations during presidential primaries. Any money still left in the fund would be moved to the government's general fund and used only to help reduce the national deficit.
