Improving Veteran Access to Care Act

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to set up a team focused on making it easier for veterans to schedule health care appointments. The team must work on building a scheduling system that lets both VA staff and patients see available appointments, and create a way for patients to call and speak with someone who can help them find and book appointments. The team also has to work alongside the VA's efforts to update its electronic health records system. If the VA decides it can't complete any part of this work, it must explain why to Congress and share an updated plan, and it must also report to Congress on its overall progress.
