Caring for Survivors Act of 2025

This bill raises the monthly payments that the Department of Veterans Affairs gives to surviving spouses of certain veterans or service members who died due to military-related conditions or who were totally disabled from such conditions. It also makes it easier for some survivors to qualify for these payments by shortening the required period that a veteran must have been rated totally disabled from 10 years to 5 years. Additionally, the bill sets specific payment amounts for survivors of veterans who were totally disabled for less than 10 years before they died.
